Weekend of the Tall Ships Races 2024

From a very busy and extended weekend, we decided to make one blog entry. A lot happened, as we first performed on August 27th in Trzebież at the first festival dedicated to the memory of Captain Andrzej Mendygrał, who, besides being an excellent sailor, was the author of many Polish translations of classic shanty lyrics.

Then, on August 2nd, 2024, we arrived in Szczecin, where the grand finale of the Tall Ships Races took place. This major sailing event attracted millions of visitors from all over the world to Szczecin.

We played on the shanty-folk stage alongside many great performers. What event could be better suited for a band like ours than this one? But that wasn’t the end. The next day, early in the morning, we had a performance on Polish Television’s Channel 3, which was covering the regatta finale,

only to perform later that evening at the 29th Festival of Slavs and Vikings in Wolin. This event is one of the largest of its kind in Europe and also draws a considerable crowd. It was challenging to manage everything, but we pulled it off, as befits the crew of Queen Anne's Revenge.
